Following my storyboard from E1 was very difficult because I was on the verge of changing and creating a new one. Nonetheless, I stuck with the current storyboard. It describes Mateo’s current life, moving to London for university, who doesn’t want to lose his girlfriend, and he confides in his older sister. While I stuck with the storyboard, I didn’t include everything in it as it was too long, and I wanted to incorporate a montage dreamlike aspect to my video. As the film I created focuses on a main character’s story instead of my passions, I decided to add the aspect of montages as I appreciate their simplicity and musical aspect. You can focus on the imagery without dialogue and conversation overpowering them. At the same time, this film is based on a familiar concept, so I decided to focus on minimal dialogue, as I preferred the shot and vibe of the film to speak for themselves and create a tone. While the dialogue is included in my movie, it isn’t the most distinct part, as opposed to the filmography and montage aspect of the video, which is the technique I wanted to focus on.
