Annotation

The theme I wanted to portray as my brand was ‘old Hollywood,’ more specifically, the Golden Age of Hollywood. While I wasn’t clear on how I would represent that in three different posters, I landed on having three distinct aspects that would encapsulate the beauty of Hollywood’s golden age. Portraying the elements of sound, media, and fashion as my key concepts would allow me to represent the theme, each in its own way. While the color palette is unique to each poster, they all have the element of gradients that unify the posters. Another connection is the layout of the posters, where each poster follows the basic structure of a title, a gradient background, a principal figure to the right of the poster, and drawings and cutouts around it. My primary inspiration from the 1926 Vogue Magazine Cover Featuring A Woman Juggling by William Bolin is for both the title font and the layout structure. It was fitting to use it to contextualize my concept with a font used in the years of my theme. Once again, I want to have a cohesive aspect throughout my posters, with elements other than color, to show how different the hues of the Golden Age were.
